Posted Friday, 21 MAR 2003 Dell has dropped the price on their already inexpensive Pocket PC based Axim X5, offering a 10% discount on top of a $50 rebate until the end of the month.  Bringing the price down to $264 and $174 for the Advanced and Basic models respectively.  $174 for 300Mhz processor, 32 MB RAM, 32 MB ROM, Dual expansion slots, and 16-bit QVGA screen.  And to think Palm charges $99 for the Zire with 2MB RAM, no backlight, no color, and no expansion slots.   We knew the Dell Axim would lead to a pricing / paradigm shift, but this is just amazing.
