Enabling the Navigator Button


The navigator button is the large button centered in bottom part of the front face of the Axim.  The button is an eight way rocker type which is used for moving the cursor in most applications and menus.  It is also one of the primary input for most games.

There is actually an additional action for this button.  Pressing the Navigator button directly (into the plane of the pda) can be used to perform the same behavior as the enter or action key, such as opening applications.  This is also the same action triggered by pressing the left-hand side jog dial directly in towards the pda.

Early models of the Axim shipped without the Navigator button enter function enabled, but Dell added it in a ROM update.


Entering Owner Information

  

The owner information screen gives the user a place to input standard contact info: name, company, address, telephone, and email.   By clicking the Show information checkbox, the user information will be displayed in a splash screen whenever the pda is powered on.

Besides the identification screen, there is a notes screen for adding additional information.  If the Show information checkbox is selected, then the notes entered will appear on the My Info splash screen when the pda is turned on.
